Meet Desireé
Desireé Moore Dent is the heart and soul behind Dejanae Events LLC, an award-winning wedding and event planning company she founded over 24 years ago. With a passion for creating unforgettable celebrations, Desireé and her talented DE Team have helped hundreds of couples say "I do" in style, all while keeping their budgets on track.
A proud graduate of DePaul University, Desireé holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English. Before diving into the world of weddings, she gained invaluable experience managing events for a large university and a mid-sized law firm in downtown Chicago. Her journey into wedding planning began with certifications in Bridal Consulting & Event Planning from the Professional Career Development Institute in 2003 and Lovegevity Wedding Planning Institute in 2007. Desireé also proudly served as the Illinois State Manager for the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC).
Beyond planning weddings and events, Desireé is passionate about teaching and inspiring others. As an instructor for the Wedding and Event Planning Certification program in partnership with Lovegevity’s Wedding Planning Institute, she’s shaping the next generation of planners. Her expertise is even highlighted in the textbook Professional Wedding Planning – How to Start A Wedding & Event Planning Business. Desireé has shared her knowledge as a speaker at notable events like The Signature CEO Conference, Premiere Planners Experience, and even on CNBC’s The News with Shepard Smith discussing “COVID Weddings.”
Desireé’s creative spirit shines through in her book, WEDology Notebook: For The Budget-Chic Bride, and the educational “WEDology toolKIT” series she designed for aspiring planners. She also co-hosted the web series The Wedding Planners and continues to mentor industry professionals as a Wedding Pro Educator for The Knot WeddingWire Worldwide.
Dejanae Events LLC has earned a spot in The Knot’s Hall of Fame as one of their “Best of Weddings” vendors. And now, with her recent designation as a Professional Wedding Planner with the Association of Bridal Consultants, Desireé continues to raise the bar, ensuring every wedding and event she and her team touches is nothing short of extraordinary.
